VIEW IN EDSHED

Dylan is the only boy living in the tiny, grey Welsh town of Manod. His family run the Snowdonia Oasis Auto Marvel garage – trying to earn a living from sales of petrol, coffee, newspapers and pot noodles! Dylan is in charge of the petrol log and that means he keeps a close eye on all visiting cars and the dietary preferences of their drivers! But when a mysterious convoy of lorries trundles up the misty mountainside towards an old, disused quarry, Dylan is baffled. Who are these people – and why are they being so secretive?

A story inspired by a press cutting describing how, during World War II, the

valuable and treasured contents of London's National Gallery were stored in Welsh slate mines. Once a month, a morale-boosting masterpiece would be unveiled in the village and then chaperoned to London for a public viewing. This is a funny and touching exploration of how artworks – and the stories within – touch the lives of one little boy and his big family in a very small town
