Q – I thought Literacy Shed was a free resource site so why do we now have to pay?
A – www.literacyshed.com has always been free and it will continue to be so. If you are happy using the films and animations as it stands and planning units for yourself, then there will be no change to what you are already doing. However if you would like to access our comprehensive unit plans you will need to subscribe to the sister site www.literacyshedplus.com
Q – How much is it for a teacher and what do I get for that?
A – $41.99 for a single user. This will get you access to all of the resources.
Q – Is there a school subscription? What do you get for this?
A – Yes. The cost for this is $34.25 per class per year. For a K-5 school the total cost per year would be $239.75.

Q – What is Literacy Shed Platinum?
A – We are adding a range of new products to this area, including Fluency Shed – a new reading programme designed to develop fluency, prosody and comprehension. We will also be introducing Picture Writing Prompts (Autumn 2026) and a new Writing Curriculum (Autumn 2027), alongside other exciting projects. We will continue to add resources to Literacy Shed Plus, including film units, comprehension packs and VIPERS guides. Any resources already included in Literacy Shed Plus will remain in the standard subscription and will not become Platinum resources.
Q – Why is there an additional subscription tier?
A – We have introduced the Platinum tier to give schools the option to access these additional products, rather than increasing the price of the standard Literacy Shed Plus subscription. Schools that are happy with the existing Literacy Shed Plus resources can continue to use them without any increase in their subscription cost.
Q – How much is Literacy Shed Platinum?
A – Literacy Shed Platinum is $26.50 per class as an addition to the Literacy Shed Plus subscription price. Example: If a school has 7 classes for Literacy Shed Plus, the price is $239.75 for 12 months' access. Literacy Shed Platinum for this subscription would be $185.50. Total price $425.25 (excl VAT).
