There is no comprehension pack with this issue. If you would like children to do some activities related to the news, you could ask them to summarise the most interesting story in 50 words or just 5 sentences. 

• Ask children to create fun headlines for the articles.
• Write their own news story based on the news in the paper.
• Create dictionary definitions for interesting vocabulary in the news.
